“by the grace of God I am what I am...”
I Corinthians 15:10
Hello! Thanks for visiting my website! My name is Jessica. I was born in Indonesia and am of Chinese descent. I lived there till I was 11 years of age before moving to the United States where I currently live.
My interests include playing organ or keyboard, reading, apologetics, jogging, swimming, playing tennis or badminton. I also love playing in table tennis tournaments.

Music...
I enjoy listening to different kinds of music for entertainment including classical, orchestra, etc. But I especially love classic Christian hymns for their rich lyrics and lovely traditional tunes. Not only do the lyrics tend to be deeper relative to many modern songs, but they also enable me to reflect upon God with more a sense of awe and reverence toward Him. I also like some Christian music with more contemporary style such as music by
Red Mountain Music and
Indelible Grace (their music is God-centered and replete with solid orthodox theology while appealing to the contemporary musical taste).

Faith...
One of the things I love most is learning more of God and His Word, because His truths transform my life. I love learning theology. And one of the most important theological truths I learned is the
Doctrines of Grace (aka the five points of Calvinism). Learning the Doctrines of Grace has impacted my life significantly because they teach (and remind) me that God is sovereign over all things, which is a truly relevant and
practical truth in my life. For example, it has influenced how I face my circumstances in life or how I view everything else in life, because I believe God is sovereign and orchestrating everything according to His purpose. He can use even what one intends to be evil for the good of His people (
Romans 8:28). It gives me true solace to know that God is sovereign over all things and nothing can frustrate His plans. The Doctrines of Grace also humble me as they remind me that even my salvation is
all of God's grace (not of my own merits) and that I can only approach His throne of grace with a heart of humility and gratitude. I have nothing to boast about before holiness and perfection. In short, the Doctrines of God's glorious grace impacted my view of God, myself, my life, my world, my duties ... everything. I pray God continues to mold me, and hope I could be the kind of Christian with a teachable spirit who continually seeks to be learning and "always Reforming" (
semper Reformanda) back to the scripture.

Books...
I love reading. During spare time I enjoy visiting a bookstore or reading a good book at a coffeeshop. I especially love theologically stimulating books and those that challenge me to learn
what I believe in and
why I believe in what I do. (To my fellow friends...let me know if you'd like to borrow any books from
my library.) Some of my favorite authors who have been instrumental in my Christian walk include
James R. White (who is an erudite Christian apologist),
R.C. Sproul,
Charles Spurgeon,
John MacArthur, and the 16th- & 17th-century
Puritans (they, by their works, though dead, yet speak).
