FAQ

Does God exist?

It has been said, "Seeing is believing." That's the attitude many people have. You may say, "If God shows Himself and comes down to earth, then I will believe. So why doesn't He?" Well, the answer is God has already done that. Look at Jesus' life. Jesus of Nazareth walked on this earth 2,000 years ago and claimed to be God. While on earth He performed many miracles. He healed the blind, the mute, and the deaf. He calmed a storm on the Sea of Galilee, walked on water, and raised people from the dead. But did everybody believe in Him as a result? No, they did not. There were some who believed, but still there were many others who rejected Him and even wanted to kill Him. Philip asked Jesus what many people ask, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us." (John 14:8) To which Jesus answered: "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? ... Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves." (John 14:9,11) History has proven that even if God comes down and walk on this earth in human flesh, it does not guarantee that everyone will believe and receive Him.

Jesus Christ : Liar, Lunatic, or Lord? Or just another great moral teacher of history?
Many people say, "I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God." But, Jesus claimed to be God, so if He's not God then He lied and deceived people. If He's not God, we have to conclude He's a deliberate liar and deceiver, or perhaps a lunatic. How could we call Him a great moral teacher if He lied and deceived millions of people into thinking that He's God and into trusting Him for their eternal life? Either He's a liar, a lunatic, or truly God as He claimed to be. You must make a choice. He cannot be just another great moral teacher of history. Oxford University professor and scholar, C. S. Lewis (a former agnostic), wrote in his book Mere Christianity:

"A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic--on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg--or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

You are no accident. . .
Your life is not the result of an "accident." God created you with a purpose. I believe God exists because He visited this earth 2,000 years ago in the Person of Jesus Christ. He came down to earth in human flesh to reach down to humanity and pay for the sins of those who (by His grace) would believe in Him.

Merely believing in God does not get us to heaven. . .
"I believe in God, and I'll go to heaven," you may say. But even the devil, too, knows God exists. James wrote, "You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder." (James 2:19) Merely agreeing intellectually that God exists doesn't get anyone to heaven. What are we going to do with this knowledge? We must surrender our heart and life to Him. If you were to die tonight, do you know where you will go? Jesus said, "Whoever comes to Me I will never drive away." (John 6:37) Coming to Christ and receiving Him as our Savior means trusting that only His death on the cross (not our works) can pay for sins. If you have never trusted in Christ as your personal Savior and Lord, it is my sincere hope and prayer that God would grant you a saving faith in Him, the ability to believe in Christ as Savior and surrender your life to Him.
